Gracias!

I bought my MacBook Pro 2017 in September and after a month or so of use I got my display like in the photo. I called the support and even after all of the possible "software" actions they can't solve my problem, so it appear to be hardware related.

MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017: MacBook Pro 2017 Display Glitching Very Badly

Basically today I was using my macbook pro and the screen suddenly started flickering green and pink horizontal lines and sometimes it shows a big vertical line when open or close the lid and also the vertical lines appear in different background, I take good care of my tech so i didn't hit or drop my macbook pro, I'm a full time student and my Macbook Pro warranty expired like 15 days ago, I don't have money to repair it and there is no Apple Store in the country that i am right now so I can’t get it diagnosed officially by Apple.

In this picture you will find some of the horizontal lines

In this picture you will find the big vertical stripe that appears when i open or close the lid

In this one it shows more of the lines like the ones of the first picture but this appear on black background which it is very weird

And in this video you are going to notice some random green and pink dots that flashes very fast in the same place of the big vertical stripe.

Note: I already reset PRAM and SMC, and started safe mode with no luck. I connected the macbook pro to an external display and it works great so GPU is good.

Please help me, thanks in advance.

UPDATE: So the stripe is not appearing anymore but the horizontal lines still appear in certain backgrounds it really depend on the colors that are being shown in the screen being black and white the ones that provoke the lines most.

MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017: Key won't go back in properly (butterfly keyboard)

Hi there, my T key on my Macbook Pro has fallen off. The key looks 100% in tact: the two top clips don’t seem damaged, and the two bottom hooks don’t seem damaged.

However when I try and put it back into place, I can’t get it to “click” in. Has the butterfly mechanism broken? It’d be great if I can try fix this myself as it’s currently lockdown in the UK so can’t get to an Apple store - I also fear it’s an expensive fix otherwise.

MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017: Can I upgrade or replace the SDD of 2017 MacBook Pro (function keys)?

I am planning to buy the new MacBook Pro Function Keys 2017. But it’s only available in 128GB and 256GB with no option of upgrading in my country.

Hence, I was thinking if I could replace the 256 SDD in MacBook Pro 2017 (function keys) model with 512 GB SDD in MacBook Pro early 2015 model.

Please give me solution, if there is any, for upgrading my SDD to 512 GB, or perhaps more, in the 2017 function keys model.

Thank you so much!

MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017: A1708 MBP does not always reboot after installing a custom ssd

Hey guys!

A few days ago I swapped the factory-installed 128GB SSD for a Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2242 SSD on my 2017 MacBook Pro without a touchbar. The installation itself went without any problems and the new SSD was recognized immediately.

With the help of an external recovery stick, I first formatted the new SSD as APFS and in the GUID partition scheme and then installed Big Sur. During the installation where the MacBook had to restart several times, I noticed that the MacBook shuts down, but then I had to restart it manually because it didn't do this by itself. Big Sur is now fully installed and I have all my data back via a Time Machine backup, but it still seems to have a problem when restarting:

It switches off, takes about 15 seconds, then switches on again and then shows the folder symbol with the question mark - it does not seem to recognize the hard drive.

If I then manually shut it down again and then boot into recovery mode with cmd + R (sometimes it is the Internet recovery and sometimes the system-internal recovery, booting into recovery mode from usb drive works as well) and then shutdown the macbook in this mode and then start it again, the macbook booted without exception and without any problems always normal to MacOS.

After this procedure when I am in the operating system, the following appears in the error report:

MCA Error Report CPU Machine Check Architecture Error Dump (CPU: Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-7360U CPU @ 2.30GHz, CPUID: 0x806E9) CATERR detected! No MCA data found.

Strangely, if I shut down the macbook normally and then turn it on again, this problem does not occur, so that the mac then boots normally into MacOS.

Things I've already tried to solve the problem:

SSD completely erased again, reformatted, installed the factory-installed MacOS Mojave and updated from there up to BigSur

PRAM / NVRAM & SMC reset

deactivated FileVault and restarted

started in safe and verbose mode

rapaired the ssd in disk utility tool several times

with 'bless -mount "/ Volumes / Macintosh HD" -setBoot' set the hard disk again as the start volume and restarted, here I have deactivated SIP beforehand, because this command otherwise failed with "Could not set boot device property: 0xe00002bc"

tested MacBook with apple diagnosis (held D key at startup), ended with ADP000 - No issues found.

adjusted power management settings with pmset command to counteract the rapid discharge of the battery

All of these attempts were unfortunately unsuccessfull.

I'm really desperate. Does anyone know a solution?

MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017: Display Colors Changed Suddenly To Weird Tone

Hello all,

First of all, I’ve done all the software related checks (External display, Invert colors check, SVRAM-NVRAM reset, Hard Format etc.). The problem is definitely hardware related.

After 3-4 months past of my warranty end, out of nowhere, my MacBook screen started to display the colors weirdly;

At first, the colors were normal until I open the lid to 30 degrees, but it was going weird if I opened more.

After 1 week like this, the display went completely crazy and showed the colors weirdly the moment I opened the lid.

I brought it to Authorized Apple Service and they checked my device. After that, they called me and told that the problem was not in the flex cables or any other cable from the motherboard side. They suspected that the problem was in the cables from the display area but in cases like this, they directly change the display and charge the customer, according to their procedure.

The funny part is, even they could not define the root cause for this issue. They said that they are also experiencing this issue for the first time.

Actually, I am very disappointed to see that if your warranty has ended, Apple does not do anything if your computer stops working out of the blue.

It is approx. 450€ to change the display here in Turkey, but I am wondering if there are any ways that I could open up the display connection part in my device by myself.

I just want to check the cables (in the display side) and make sure they are connected properly.

Thank you all in advance!

Can
