Hola, me gustaría saber si alguien me puede ayudar con un problema que estoy teniendo con mi laptop, la compre usada hace unos meses y la estuve usando poco, sin sacarla más allá de mi casa, no había tenido ningún problema hasta que derrepente de unas dos semanas para acá, con un uso algo más extenso empieza a presentar líneas negras o de otros colores que se van presentando gradualmente en la pantalla, conforme se usa un poco más después de que aparecen las primeras van saliendo más, me preocupaba que fuera algún tema de la tarjeta gráfica así que actualice los drivers tanto de la gráfica integrada Intel como de la dedicada de nvidia, aun así el problema persiste, arranque en modo seguro y las líneas prevalecen, sin embargo conecto un hdmi a un monitor externo y no presenta ningún problema, la pantalla de la laptop no parece estar dañada y ninguna línea se puede ver hasta ya habiendo pasado unos 20-30 minutos de uso continuo, yo supongo (más podría estar equivocado) que podría ser algo de la temperatura de la misma, y actualmente unas de las líneas ya permanecen aveces en color amarillo, no se que podría ser ya que no soy experto ni mucho menos, espero puedan ayudarme ya que es me encuentro un poco cabizbajo de que este fallando teniendo tan poco tiempo con ella. The bad news when this bogus error happened was that my CPU clock was slowed from 3.5 GHz to 0.35 GHz (a factor of 10!), which essentially made the PC nearly unusable.

A couple of weeks ago, my laptop underwent a software update, and now 9 times out of 10, the official Dell 180W power supply which was shipped with my laptop directly from Dell is incorrectly recognized as being unknown and under 150W.

This is clearly a software error on Dell's part, because it started occurring immediately after the software update and doesn't resolve by itself any longer, and also does not resolve by unplugging and re-plugging the power supply.

I would really appreciate it if someone at Dell would read this post and actually look into getting this problem fixed. I am not the only person who has experienced this problem, as there are at least 2 other posts (and multiple responses) from as far back as 2014 with a similar issue. As a pointer of where to look: in the communication between the laptop power drivers and the power supply, either the drivers or the power supply is causing the problem. It shouldn't be too hard to modify the driver software to properly handle the situation and avoid this debilitating roll back of the CPU clock speed.

As one other poster pointed out: the M4800 is only drawing 35W, why, then, do you need a 150W minimum power supply attached to the bloody machine?? Maybe the battery can't be quickly charged with a 50W power supply, but surely the clock speed doesn't need to be cut by a factor of 10 in even that extreme power situation.

Sheesh, guys, it's a Dell laptop, a Dell power supply, and Dell software: it certainly seems like there can't be any finger pointing at some mysterious 3rd party misbehaving and magically causing this problem with Dell having zero ability to do anything about it. Seriously, can't you get this right?

My Laptop Screen flickers with fuzzy pixels when it start from cold and still flickering until it warm up then i should close the lid and open it again to disappear and back to normal state.i attached external monitor to check if this from graphics card but external monitor worked fine without any problem.i want to know if this problem from the screen itself or problem with the motherboard?

It used to work normally until couple of months ago, since when it just wouldn't power on. No light on a power button, no sound, no fans spinning, no text on display.

Previously, there was no warning signs of any problems, except maybe for a power button, I needed to press it a little bit harder then usual, but that was the issue forever.

What I did so far:

1. Checked charger voltage, it is 19.4 V, very close to declared 19.5 V.
2. Wiggled cable, checked that the charger is fully plugged in
3. Removed the base cover, removed some dust around the fans (there was some built up, but not too bad)
4. Removed the battery and charger, pressed power button for 1 min
5. Attached battery back, without charger, still dead
6. Attached charger, without battery, ditto
7. Removed one RAM module (out of two), then removed the second one, swap their places, etc, no luck

Any suggestions how to proceed from here?

My battery connector have have 12 wires: 4 red, 4 gray, and 4 black (left to right).

When charger is unplugged, and battery connected to the board, on battery connector I read 11.8 V on red wires, zeros on all others:

When battery is disconnected, I cannot read any voltage. I tried to probe on the back of the connector and on the bottom:

When I connected charger, I noticed two LEDs below the touchpad started to glow for a second, then turned off again.

With charger connected, on DC connector on motherboard, I read 19.4 V (three red wires), 3.3 V (grey wire).

When charger is connected and battery connected too, on battery connector I read 12.6 V (red wires), and 3.3 V (first two grey wires). Other two gray wires are on 0 V. I don't know if this is expected or not.

LEDs I mention before turned on for couple of minutes, then turned off again.

My understanding so far:

1. Battery is fine
2. Charger is fine
3. Charger connector is fine
4. Battery is charging

Could it be that the power button is damaged? That laptop is fine, but I just cannot turn it on?

I was unable to fix this myself so I took laptop to a service. The repair guy said that the power button is ok, but the two controllers that are orchestrating the powerup sequence needed to be replaced and one of them needs to be reprogrammed.

Does Dell lock their BIOS down if non-Dell parts are installed? And is there a trick to bypassing this?

Word experienced an error trying to open the file.

Try the following steps.

• Check the access permissions for the document or drive.
• Make sure you have enough memory and disk space.
• Open the file with text recovery Converter.

The girl herself does not know after which it it happened.

What to do?

(This was all probably in OfficeXP or 2007 - she doesn't know, but certainly not in 2010)
