iPad 2 GSM Dock Connector Replacement

Replace the Dock Connector in your iPad 2 GSM.

Use this guide to replace a broken dock connector.

Paso 1 Dock Connector  ¶ 

Use a plastic opening tool to help remove the piece of tape covering the end of the dock connector cable.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to help remove the piece of tape covering the end of the dock connector cable.

Paso 2  ¶ 

Use the edge of a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the dock connector cable's connector up from its socket on the logic board. Peel the dock connector ribbon cable off the rear panel.

  • Use the edge of a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the dock connector cable's connector up from its socket on the logic board.

  • Peel the dock connector ribbon cable off the rear panel.

  • Do not try to completely remove the cable, as it is still securely attached to the rear panel.

Paso 3  ¶ 

Remove the two 2.0 mm Phillips screws securing the dock connector to the rear panel.

  • Remove the two 2.0 mm Phillips screws securing the dock connector to the rear panel.

Paso 4  ¶ 

Pull the dock connector away from the edge of the rear panel and remove it from the iPad 2.
