Use this guide to replace a faulty power jack in your Toshiba Satellite L305-S5946, which is usually indicated by the computer failing to charge. You must remove the base housing in order to reach the power jack.

Turn the laptop upside-down.

Position the laptop so that the display hinges are facing away from you.

Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to loosen the two screws on the bottom left-hand side of the hard drive cover.

Turn each screw until you hear a click.

Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to turn the screw on the RAM cover.

Turn the screw until you hear a click.

Turn the laptop right-side up.

Lift open the laptop so that the screen faces you.

Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the twelve 6-mm screws that borders the bottom of the laptop.

Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove a 6-mm screw that is located in the lower middle, as shown.

Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the three 3-mm screws located in the battery bay.

Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the one 4-mm screw located near the RAM.

Flip over your laptop so that it is right-side up.

Open your laptop so that the screen faces you.
