Hi all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2. The USB charging port is not working reliably. I read this repair guide, got the part, and set about replacing the USB charging board. Unfortunately, when I opened the phone, it does not look like the photos in this guide. To start, there are six screws instead of seven. Then when the back is removed, there are not "two black screws" to be removed. Finally, the motherboard is completely different from what is shown here. It is one single board, with the USB charging port board incorporated. It cannot be removed to replace it. So the part I bought does not work with my Samsung Galaxy S2. Is there another guide to help with my model of this phone?
Model SGH-T989
Many thanks.
Hi rileybk, there are quite a number of phones called "Samsung Galaxy S2". Have a look at the Wikipedia here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Ga...
The device shown here seems to be a SGH-I777 which you can read on the label below the battery.
As Wikipedia describes these devices can be very different from each other so that your replacement part might not fit or work at all.
(btw, I came by to look for a guide for the so-called "international version" i9100 ... I have to see whether this guide will help me nethertheless)
