Como sabemos, si conectas un nuevo disco duro externo Toshiba a su PC, es posible que tu Windows no lo reconozca porque no ha sido inicializado. Abra Administración de discos. (Pulsa Windows + R en tu teclado para iniciar el cuadro de diálogo Ejecutar. Escribe "diskmgmt.msc" en el cuadro y pulsa Aceptar).

All of the solutions revolve around the fact that diskmgmt.msc registered the device. My computer detected there was something in the USB port, just didn’t know what it was.
mine kept coming up with “redundant cycle error” and it wont do anything
My drive doesn’t show up in any of these solutions. The only place it shows up is I. Computer Management>Disc Drives.
Great little series of potential fixes (and if someone can read, they don’t need pics), but unfortunately, like some others, my brand new drive doesn’t show up anywhere at all. It was formatted on an 8.1 machine using Macrium with which I cloned a drive, which I am fairly certain was an NTFS type format. But, nada. Win 10 sucks again.

I would not say this guide is outdated, the content is still germane and valid.
If you have the device not recognized, warning triangle icon right click it, select uninstall device then select Rescan from the drop-down menu above. If the drive is still not recognized try restarting your computer with the drive plugged in rather than attaching it after booting oddly, this sometimes works. Do try the drive in all your available ports, power issues port configurations may be the problem
