Introducción

This guide will help you repair the buttons on the Seville Classics MSC10166 Tower Fan.

Partes

  1. Use a Philips #2 screwdriver to unscrew the four 6mm Phillips #0 back screws.
    • Use a Philips #2 screwdriver to unscrew the four 6mm Phillips #0 back screws.

    • Do this by unscrewing from left-to-right then pull the screws out of the back of the fan

  2. Pull the front and back cover apart.
    • Pull the front and back cover apart.

    • Be careful not to pull the front cover off completely because it holds the wires.

  3. Remove the Phillips (5-mm head) 6-mm screw that holds the circuit board to the outer shell of the fan.
    • Remove the Phillips (5-mm head) 6-mm screw that holds the circuit board to the outer shell of the fan.

    • Make sure the fan is unplugged while removing the circuit board as you may get shocked.

    • To remove the screws, unscrew in a left-to-right fashion at an angle to make sure that the wires do not get tangled.

  5. Remove the top cover containing the circuit board and the wires by pulling it away from the body of the fan.
    • Remove the top cover containing the circuit board and the wires by pulling it away from the body of the fan.

  6. Remove the circuit board from the top cover. Do not touch the other side of the circuit board as you  may damage circuit elements. Unscrew the four screws on the top of the circuit board in a left-to-right fashion. After pull screws out of the board.
    • Remove the circuit board from the top cover. Do not touch the other side of the circuit board as you may damage circuit elements.

    • Unscrew the four screws on the top of the circuit board in a left-to-right fashion. After pull screws out of the board.

  7. Next remove the two (7-mm head) 8-mm screws that attach the buttons to the top cover of the fan.
    • Next remove the two (7-mm head) 8-mm screws that attach the buttons to the top cover of the fan.

    • To do this, unscrew in an upright position and pull screw out after.

  8. Remove the buttons from the top cover.
    • Remove the buttons from the top cover.

  9. Wipe down any dirt on the buttons.
    • Wipe down any dirt on the buttons.

  10. Wipe down the frame that holds the buttons.
    • Wipe down the frame that holds the buttons.

    • Reverse the order of this guide in order to put back together the fan.

Conclusión

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Great work but our problem is the micro switch itself, after exposing the circuit board I shorted the backside solder connections to cycle the fan on and off, everything works perfectly…..now I only need to know a part number so I can find a on/off micro switch.

any suggestions?
