Introducción
Mi PS4 se cayó de una estantería y la esquina delantera donde se sitúa la antena se dañó. Eso causó que la soldadura del cable que conectaba la antena con la placa se rompiera. Eso causó retraso con los mandos y tenías que sentar al lado de la consola. El mando funcionaba por un minuto y se desconectaba. El botón X no funcionaba.
De la manera que lo he solucionado podría solucionar defectos de fábrica en los que la antena no estuviera bien conectada.

Usa la punta de un spudger para desconectar el cable de antena de la placa madre.

Remueve el tornillos Torx security de 9.7 mm que sujetan la antena.

Remueve la antena Wi-Fi.
When I’m connected to wifi it does good for awhile then it disconnects from the wifi and I can’t use the controller. I have to turn the game off and disconnect power source. Do you think the wifi antenna could be the problem or doin have another situation.
I would check the antenna connection to the motherboard, if it's properly seated I don't think it's the problem.

Como puedes ver, hay 2 puntos de soldadura. El cable debe pasar por el primer punto hasta el segundo punto. Pero cuando el sistema se cayó, rompió esa conexión y la antena se dobló. Si en la fábrica los puntos de soldadura no son correctos, causará el mismo problema de retraso con el controlador y WiFi.

Esta es la parte fácil. Retira la antena. Mueve el cable entre los dos puntos de soldadura para que se conecte al segundo punto. Una vez allí, toma tu soldador y calienta la soldadura y arrástrala sobre el cable para hacer la conexión.

Recuerda dejar este espacio. No dobles la antena para que las puntas te toquen. El espacio que queda se ha diseñado así, y cambiarlo podría tener efectos adversos en el mando y WiFi. Pero es así de fácil. Mi PS4 ahora funciona perfectamente con su mando y WiFi. No hace falta desarmar nada más ni comprar piezas. Enciende tu PS4, y listo para jugar.
Hi, I think I have a similar problem to you, although my wifi/bluetooth doesn't work at all. Do you think this is the problem or could it be a problem with the module instead?

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for making this with great pictures and everything. This was exactly the fix I needed for my bad reception and disconnection problems. For everyone that will try this. It is very important tho have those spaces in the metal. There are two parts to the cable. The silvery thread like wires,and the solid wire covered by yellowish insulation rubber. The threads needs to be sodered on one side, and the solid wire on he other side/tab. Don not have the soder from either wires touching. Hope this further helps,and thanks again bdcallen69,and two other contributors. You are my heroes today.

I appreciate the point in the right direction, thank you for that. I just stripped about an inch off and tossed the antenna, works great even lose in the system. Went from barely two feet to over 40. Maybe I'll attach it to the antenna and see if distance is increased.
Great guide! You saved my 4day weekend. Kid tripped over Ethernet cable and controller started wiggin' out. Followed the guide and even cleaned my fan, so it was really a blessing in disguise as my console runs quietly like in the before time!!!

Thank You for the awesome fix, first time I did not realize their were 2 wires and of course the fix didn't work. After I realizedthere were 2 wires like a coaxle TV antenna wire the fix worked great! Again Thank You Very Much! Also tried it like someone posted about not using the metal at all just stripped 1" of wire & 1/8" of shielding wire so two wires aaren't touching, this worked also, No Solder Needed! Unbelievable Son & I lived with this nightmare for 3 years, mostly he did. Unit took a fall His Freshman Year at College. I had thought maybe a broken PC board(green board)!
This guide was a %#*@ lifesaver, if you're having connection problems with your ds4 controller to the ps4 this guide will more than likely solve your problems, in my case it wasn't the solder point, it was the opposite end of the wire that was disconnected from the little round fuse under the power bank, I simply had to attach it on! Thank you to the creator of this guide !!!
So I did this and now my controller can be used across the room, which is &&^&^$^ awesome. BUT now every few minutes the screen will randomly go black or have white/gray static lines going through the screen for a brief second. Which isn't the worst, but still a bit annoying. Is it possible I did anything wrong, and if so how could I fix it? It's not impossible that it's something unrelated to this guide, like my HDMI cable, or something.
Hi ! I verify thee antena and its fine but my controller disconnects when I plug on headphones! Please HELP! And also disconnects randomly …..what can I do????!!!
My controller sometimes just shuts off and lags if i is connected by usb cable the problems get worst. I just checked my antenna and it looks fine so is there anyone who knows what coulb be wrong and how to fix it? I have the same problem my controller randomly shuts off and sometimes lags for like 1 minute and then everything works correctly again. When i connect it by usb cable the lag get's worst. I just checked my antenne which looks fine to me. So if anyone has a clue what's going on please tell me.
Its probably the bluetooth chip if this fix is not working. I cba to even try this because ill probably have to order a new chip instead.

wondering if this will help my controllers from not working if the light beam is covered up from my legs being crossed. no physical damage has been done to the ps4 but it is an old version. the destiny 1 edition that was just the game and the white console XD. i may have to try this
Thank you, you saved me a lot of money and time, had to buy only the soldering iron. Had this problem for six months till I decided to open the ps4 myself. To others, bear in mind that the cable is coaxial like, only a little tiny, and one end should not touch the another, because it is an antenna! With patience, you'll succeed. Thanks again!
Nice writeup. Very well done. I was getting issues with my controllers. If I was withing 4ft it was okay, but further than that it became very poor, laggy and disconnecting. Never been dropped, took it apart following the guide, great information on tools required.
My antenna was fine, no broken wire at the end. However the plug that goes to the main board was a bit discoloured and tarnished. Cleaned up and reseated. Works like a dream now, far end of the room still working great.

I don't have a solder iron, and I got a new antenna, and my controller is STILL disconnecting at random.
Did I do something wrong when installing it, or is the new antenna not new at all.
Yeah. I’ve rebuilt a few of them and the main issue a lot of people have is the antenna gets separated between the two points. You can either clean it up and resolder it or order one on Amazon for $10. Repair is super simple and quick, disconnecting the power supply is the only tedious task (but once you disconnect it the first time it’ll be easy going forth)
I demolished mine the other day by opening it up to apply thermal paste and new pads to my PS4, no fan sound at Least but now my audio headset works like crap when I’m playing games and my controller gets disconnected.
so whichever comes in first, the flux or a replacement cable.
if it does not work, look at your solder job or look at the replacement cable. Cheers
It was my controller battery malfunctioning causing my lag i guess as the only thing that fixed it was to rebuild system data and to sync a new ps4 controller to my ps4 after replacing the wifi antenna

Hola, desafortunadamente sufro del inconveniente con mi WiFi/Bluetooth de mi mando, al jugar en línea mi mando se descontrola y realiza movimientos que no realizo al jugar. Procedí a soldar la pieza como se muestra en el ejemplo, ahora puedo jugar online y pero sufro del mismo problema de vez en cuando. Alguien experto me podría decir que puede ser el problema, o mejor debo comprar la pieza de wi-fi / Bluetooth nueva?

dumb question but I’m very new to this. when reconnecting the wifi antenna, does it just click back on? I'm hesitant to try this procedure if I need to solder anything since I have zero experience.

Yup! Hold it in place and press straight down on top of it with your finger or a spudger. If you have any other cable/connector questions see this guide.

Heads up, you might have a black philips screw above the power connector. It fixes the motherboard and EMI shield on if you're dealing with an 1100 model.
