    • Ensure your laptop is fully turned off. Flip it over so the bottom is facing up and the carry handle is facing away from you.

    • Remove the single 4 mm Phillips #00 screw holding the RAM access cover in place.

    • Gently rotate the cover upwards and pull it out. This will reveal the Toughbook’s RAM slots.

    • To unlock the RAM, gently pull both locking tabs apart.

    • Be careful in this step; any excessive force may snap the locking tabs off.

    • You will know that the RAM is unlocked when it rotates upwards.

    • Repeat this process for each stick you need to replace.

    • Pull the RAM sticks from their slots.

    • If they require any amount of force to remove, ensure that both locking tabs have been unlocked.

    • When reassembling, slide your replacement sticks into the slot. Orient the gold contacts towards the slot. Ensure the plastic tab in the slot lines up with the cutout on the stick. Gently push down on each of the sticks until they lay flat above the motherboard. The two locking arms should audibly click into place when the stick is properly set.

    • Ensure that you are not forcing the stick into place as this may damage the RAM.
