    • Remove the 28 mm inner screw holding the chuck onto the drill using a Phillips #3 screwdriver.

    • Rotate the screw clockwise to loosen it.

    • The inner chuck screw is reverse threaded which is why it needs to be rotated clockwise.

    • Insert an Allen wrench into the chuck and tighten the chuck onto the wrench.

    • The Allen wrench will be used for leverage when removing the chuck.

    • When the chuck is tightened it could make a clicking sound. This is fine and is not causing any harm to the drill.

Milwaukee say to heat the tort screw up to loosen the locktite. Did this to the second chuck I replaced came off much easier. Getting the chuck off was a different story, tried hitting a 10mm allan key in the chuck didn’t work. Ended up getting a 10mm 1/2’ allan head socket on a breaker bar. Put the drill on the ground stood on it and with the other leg kicked the breaker bar. Came straight off.

My chuck was stuck and working rough, needed to get it off the drill motor. Worked on a Harbor Freight Hercules 1/2” hammer/drill just fine. Neat trick using the Allen for leverage! Looks a lot like a copy…

Thanks! Dave D.

Not really clear in what mode it needs to be, nor what rotation mode

1st gear and twist the drill threshold to the drill bit setting (max torque).
