Introducción

Use this guide to replace the fingerprint scanner assembly on your device. This requires the use of a heat gun to weaken adhesive, be safety cautious when using these tools.

  1. Turn off the device.

  5. Insert a plastic opening tool into the Micro USB charging port with the the angled side of the tool facing the screen. Pry the screen off the back of the phone by pushing down on the opening tool.

  10. Remove the motherboard cover from the device using a spudger or your fingers.

  12. Apply heat around the finger print scanner assembly using a heat gun or hair dryer.

  13. Separate the fingerprint scanner assembly from the back panel using a spudger.

    • This step can be difficult. You may consider using a metal spudger.

    • Be careful not to damage the black rubber adhesive around the fingerprint scanner. It is needed for water and dust resistance.

  14. Remove the finger print scanner from the device by lifting it with two fingers.

    • When reattaching the fingerprint scanner assembly, additional adhesive may be required.
