    • Once the BIOS firmware is downloaded, install the “7-Zip Extractor”.

    • To install the "7-Zip Extractor" right click on the BIOS firmware. Hover over"7-Zip" in the drop bar, another drop bar will appear, click on "Extract files".

    • If an error message appears saying: "7-Zip Extractor cannot extract the entire .exe file," try running the "firmware.exe" file.

    • Press "CTRL" and "S" simultaneously to save your progress.

    • Simultaneously press the ''Windows" and "R" key so that a text box pops up and enter "%temp%" in the text box.

    • Find the folder that the "firmware.exe" files have been temporarily extracted to. Right click on all of the files and copy them.

    • Open the file named "platform.ini".

    • A new page will appear. Along the left side of the new page find "Password=0” and replace it with "Password=1".

    • Press "CTRL" and "S" simultaneously to save your progress.

    • Run the “InsydeFlash.exe” file and complete the screen instructions.

    • Once done with screen instructions, restart your laptop and the BIOS password should be gone.

upgraded to latest bios already before trying. So cant do the flash unless new bios comes out. Get an error message to say you have the latest bios, cant go back either !

You can go to this section of the site https://www.acer.com/in-en/support/drive... and write your SNID there.

Then just go on from Step 2 on this guide.

Bei meinem SP714-51-M339 ist plötzlich das BIOS gesperrt. seit dieser Zeit lässt sich auch kein Life-Linux vom USB-Stick mehr starten. Ich habe die Änderung in der plattform.ini versucht. Leider lässt sich die beschriebene Methode sich nicht akurat zu Ende führen. in dem Verzeichnis befindet sich keine InsydeFlash.exe. Weiß einer warum oder kennt jemand die richtige Methode für meinen Spin?

Ähnlich bei mir (mit Acer Concept D): Plötzlich ist ein Admin-Passwort drinnen, obwohl ich mich nicht erinnern kann, es jemals (vor 2 Jahren) gesetzt zu haben.

Im extrahierten EXE finde ich das erwähnte Programm nicht, stattdessen sollte es vermutlich "H2OFFT-Wx64.exe" tun (in der GUI lese ich was von Insyde). Beim Start wird das System überprüft, dann kommt "The version of ROM file is the same as that of BIOS." und das Programm schließt sich anschließend. Was kann ich machen?

I tried this. In my case the file name to run was H2OFFT-Wx64.exe. I modified platform.ini according to the guide. The bios was flashed but the password remained. :-(
