How to Calibrate a Frigidaire Oven That Doesn't Heat at Correct Temperature

Guía en vídeo
Esta guía ha sido transcrita de un vídeo de YouTube.

Qué necesitas

    • Acquire a metal oven thermometer rated for high temperatures.

    • Do not use an infrared thermal gun because it measures surface heat, not cavity temperature.

    • Locate the small sensor rod in the upper back corner of the oven cavity.

    • Place the thermometer on the rack beside the sensor, ideally in the back left corner.

    • Close the door and set Bake to 375 °F or 400 °F.

    • Allow the oven to run for at least 20 minutes, preferably 30 minutes, after Preheat completes.

    • Confirm the heating element has cycled off before reading the thermometer.

    • Wear heat-resistant gloves and keep hands clear of the hot element.

    • Record the stabilized thermometer temperature once it holds steady.

    • Subtract the actual reading from the set temperature to find the difference.

    • Plan to raise or lower the offset by this difference when programming.

    • Some control boards only adjust in 5 °F, 10 °F, 15 °F, or 25 °F increments.

    • Press Cancel or turn the selector knob to Off to shut the oven down.

    • Let the oven cool slightly before touching the control panel.

    • Press and hold the Bake button for 5–10 seconds until the display shows 0 °F.

    • Release the button when 0 °F appears to enter calibration mode.

    • If the display does not change, proceed to the alternate method.

    • Press Bake to wake the control, then turn the temperature to 550 °F.

    • Release the knob or button, then press and hold Bake for 5 seconds.

    • If 0 °F does not appear, release Bake, wait one second, and hold it again for 5 seconds.

    • Repeat the sequence until the calibration screen appears.

    • Use the Up and Down arrow keys to change the displayed temperature offset.

    • Positive numbers make the oven hotter; negative numbers cool it down.

    • Set the offset equal to the difference measured earlier without exceeding the board limit.

    • Adjust quickly because some boards time out in a few seconds.

    • Stop pressing keys and wait about 5–10 seconds for the display to return to normal.

    • The control stores the new offset automatically when the display resets.

    • Repeat the temperature test to verify the oven now matches the set temperature.

    • If the oven remains off by more than 100 °F, the temperature sensor or control board may be faulty.

    • An oven that stalls below 250 °F despite calibration typically needs electronic repair.

Conclusión

Your Frigidaire oven should now reach the temperature shown on its display. Re-check the temperature whenever you change cookware or notice inconsistent baking, and remember that extreme deviations usually point to a failing sensor or control board that will need replacement.
