Introducción
When your Frigidaire oven displays the right temperature but food still under- or over-cooks, the control may be out of calibration. Performing a simple offset adjustment brings the displayed setting back in line with the actual cavity temperature, saving energy and improving cooking results. This guide shows you how to measure the true temperature with a metal oven thermometer, calculate the needed offset, and program that offset using either of the two common Frigidaire calibration procedures.
Qué necesitas
-
Paso 1 Gather a thermometer and locate the sensor
-
Acquire a metal oven thermometer rated for high temperatures.
-
Locate the small sensor rod in the upper back corner of the oven cavity.
-
-
Paso 2 Position the thermometer and heat the oven
-
Place the thermometer on the rack beside the sensor, ideally in the back left corner.
-
Close the door and set Bake to 375 °F or 400 °F.
-
-
Paso 3 Determine the temperature offset
-
Record the stabilized thermometer temperature once it holds steady.
-
Subtract the actual reading from the set temperature to find the difference.
-
Plan to raise or lower the offset by this difference when programming.
-
-
Paso 5 Enter calibration mode method 1
-
Press and hold the Bake button for 5–10 seconds until the display shows 0 °F.
-
Release the button when 0 °F appears to enter calibration mode.
-
-
Paso 6 Enter calibration mode method 2
-
Press Bake to wake the control, then turn the temperature to 550 °F.
-
Release the knob or button, then press and hold Bake for 5 seconds.
-
-
Paso 7 Adjust the temperature offset
-
Use the Up and Down arrow keys to change the displayed temperature offset.
-
Positive numbers make the oven hotter; negative numbers cool it down.
-
Set the offset equal to the difference measured earlier without exceeding the board limit.
-
-
Paso 8 Save the new setting
-
Stop pressing keys and wait about 5–10 seconds for the display to return to normal.
-
-
Paso 9 Verify operation and troubleshoot
-
Repeat the temperature test to verify the oven now matches the set temperature.
-
Your Frigidaire oven should now reach the temperature shown on its display. Re-check the temperature whenever you change cookware or notice inconsistent baking, and remember that extreme deviations usually point to a failing sensor or control board that will need replacement.
