Introducción
Advertencia: Puede haber varias iteraciones en esta laptop, y cada una usa un diferente modelo de batería. Antes de comprar una batería de reemplazo, abre la cubierta para confirmar visualmente que batería de reemplazo deberías comprar.
La batería dentro de la laptop es el componente más importante para tener una laptop funcionando. Si estas experimentando un tiempo de vida de la batería pobre en tu HP Elitebook 840 G5, por favor sigue la siguiente guía de reemplazo paso-a-paso para la batería de abajo. Ya que este reemplazo requiere el respaldo para ser completamente removido, ten cuidado durante el reemplazo ya que los componentes eléctricos dentro de tu laptop serán expuestos. También asegúrate de remover cuidadosamente cualquier cable conectado por las cabezas-no los cables en sí. Esto preverá que cualquier cable se rompa durante el reemplazo.

Usa un desarmador Phillips # 1 para desatornillar los cinco tornillos. Los tres tornillos superiores son de 10 mm y los dos en los lados son de 7 mm.

Desatornilla los tres tornillos del inferior usando el mismo desarmador.

Voltea la computadora para que el lado donde este la bisagra este mirándote.

Usa la herramienta de apertura de plástico para hacer palanca y abrir la cubierta trasera.

Arrastra la herramienta de apertura de plástico a lo largo del borde de izquierda a derecha y usa una segunda herramienta de apertura para hacer palanca y abrir la esquina superior derecha.

Repite el tercer paso para el otro lado.

Repite en los lados Izquierdo y Derechos del sistema. Hay dos puntos en el centro (en los lados izquierdo y derecho del tornillo central) que se liberaran con un poco de ´presión ligera.

Retira los tornillos de 4mm que están sujetos a la batería con tu desarmador Torx T9.

Unfortunately, the TR9 Torx Security Screwdriver did not work on my Elitebook 840 G5. It is unclear if this is due to the battery model. Mine is a SS03XL battery.
Same problem, i ordered battery based on this, but this model have SS03XL battery un TT03XL battery is for Hp EliteBook 850 G5 G6, ZBook 15U G5 G6 Series
Replaced the battery with the correct SS03XL battery sold from here and have had zero luck in getting it to charge. Updated bios, firmware, everything under the sun, drained the system of residual power. Disconnected CMOS battery because I'm reaching for anything at this point. Bios diag options doesn't even list battery diag as an option. Battery is not detected. I'm at a loss, help pls.
replaced the battery, it works just fine, but struggeling with the touchpad, it no longer gets the proper "click" feel after replacing, battery seems to have the same shape, and thickness, i might try putting in the old one and see if this sovles it, its like its to "tight" around the touchpad area. redid everything 4 times and everything seems to be placed correctly. when back cover is off, it clicks just fine tho.
On my HP EliteBook 840 G5, the “two side screws” (black) are found inside the two holes seen next to the left top screw, and between the center and right top screw.

Mine had the same, and these black screws also need to be released in order to remove the bottom panel.

Correct. Some other models have 2 black screws at the back, near the corners.
The models with the 2 black screws, are missing the 2 silver screws at the left side and the right side in the middle.
Note: You need to release the 2 black screws as well, if your type of model has them.

Thank you this was very helpful. I was able to remove the cover and the SSD.
Stupid question but is this board considered the hard drive? my laptop failed (no power) and I did get an identical replacement. In the past I have been able to remove the hard drive in the failed laptop and connect it to the new one via a data transfer cable (removed hard drive to usb in new laptop. I could then browse files off of the old hard drive and transfer them over to the new. This SSD board has vastly different connectors. Do you know if they make a transfer cable that connects to this board with a usb on the other end?

I removed the back cover and installed a new SSD. When I went to put the back cover, the center screw would not go back in. It turns but does not catch. Any advice?
