Epson PowerLite S4 Exhaust Fan Replacement

Introducción

This guide is to inform you on how to replace the exhaust fan in an Epson Powerlite S4 projector in cases where it is broken or shown to be defective.
In order to prevent the projector from overheating, the exhaust fan helps dissipate the excess heat produced by internal components. If left untreated, a faulty exhaust fan will fail to dissipate heat from the internal components and will cause the projector to constantly shut down, and if it continues to be unresolved, the bulb in the projector will physically explode.
Before starting, make sure to turn off and unplug the projector from any external power source.

  1. Epson PowerLite S4 Exhaust Fan Replacement, Exhaust Fan: paso 1, imagen 1 de 1

    • With the bottom of the projector facing you, use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws.

    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove one screw on the backside of the projector.

    • Slide the panel off.

    • Lift the top frame from the backside of the projector, with care not to damage any connections.

    • Disconnect the two cables from the motherboard.

    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove one screw.

    • Lift the fan and its mount up and out of the projector.

    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the fan to its housing, then gently pull them apart to separate each piece.
