Step 1. Open the computer protective case.
First power off the laptop and turn the back of the computer up and you will find there are 11 approximately 5mm phillips screws.
Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws on the back of the computer and open the back of the computer. Because the back shell of the Dell computer has a lock design, the three screws below cannot be unscrewed, as long as the screws are screwed to the maximum and slip with some sliding sound.
In addition, opening the back cover of the computer can be a bit laborious. You can use a hard object to pry it through the gap or force it from the air vent.

Step 2. Remove the broken fan.
Find the corresponding broken fan location and use a screwdriver to remove the two surrounding screws.

Step 3. Remove the wires from the fan connection.
You will find that there are wires connected to the fan.
First tear off the black insulating tape and then find the white sawtooth-like interface and pinch the two sides with your thumb and index fingernail and pull it apart. This way we have successfully removed the broken fan.

Step 4. Install the new fan.
Put the new fan in its original position in the same way. Connect the white sawtooth-like interface connector to the computer. And fix the fan around with screws.
Be careful that the surrounding wires may be tangled or hidden under the fan before, comb them neatly so as not to press it, because each wire has a different function, which will cause some parts of the computer to fail.

Step 5. Secure the fan wires.
Cut black insulating tape about 1.5 cm long and 3 mm wide or use the old tape of the computer to fix the wires to prevent them from moving.

Step 6. Check whether the fan is installed successfully.
No need to install a computer case. Start the computer and use the corresponding software to check whether the cooling fan is installed successfully.
