Audiovox CR8030iE5 AUX Port Replacement

Introducción

If the AUX port isn't working, install a new one! This guide shows you how to change out an old AUX port that may not be working correctly.

Note: This guide involves soldering and should not be done by children. If you do not know how to solder, check out Cómo soldar y desoldar conexiones to learn how before beginning this guide.

Paso 1 Top-Casing

Turn the device upside down.
Apply constant pressure to the base of your Audiovox, while holding the plastic casing until the casing is completely removed.

Paso 2

Remove the four screws from the base using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

Turn the device right-side up.
Gently pull the top panel off of the device.

Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screw found in the middle of the board.

Pull back the board gently to avoid disconnecting the attached wires.
This allows you to view the soldered connections on the other side, and the internal components.

To remove the faulty AUX port wires, de-solder the two wires on the white rectangular region of the board.
If you don't know how to solder, check out Cómo soldar y desoldar conexiones.
Soldering irons are extremely hot and can burn you if you touch them!
If you hold the soldering iron tip at the same spot for too long, it can strip the metal from the plastic board. You may not be able to solder wire to that point again.

Paso 7

Carefully insert the new AUX port wires into their designated holes and solder them into place.
