    • Switch off the Laptop and remove the Battery.

    • Unscrew the two Philips screws and remove the HDD / RAM Cover.

    • Remove three screws securing the hard drive caddy (hard drive assembly).

    • Slide the hard drive assembly to the left to disconnect it from the motherboard.

  3. Asus X55C HDD (Hard Disk Drive) Replacement: paso 3, imagen 1 de 1
    • Remove the two Philips screws and separate the HDD from the caddy case.

    • You can install 2.5" SATA HDD, 5400rpm / 7200rpm, 320GB / 500GB / 750GB /1TB.

    • After changing / upgrading the HDD you must install an operating system or clone & copy the information from the old HDD to the new one.

    Okay so I was needing to upgrade hdd on this exact model and it worked great for the first part but putting the cover on didn’t work any ideas?

Were do you get the OS already installed on the drive. I have a Asus 550 with a 500 G and win 8.1. Looking to up grade to win 10 YES i have the GEO FORCE graphic card. Will I loose the use of the GEO FORCE. card. It has a i7 chip. And 6 g of line one cache would like to take to like 16 G… I would like to use the solid state hard drive. I understand it weathers bounces. Small slams and bangs better than the disc type. But I may not beable to afford this high a upgrade. Recommendations chrisdeiotte7@gmail.com
