How to get a new trackpad?

The trackpad gets harder and harder to use. It needs an unsual pressure to work. What can be done to fix it? Do I have to change the whole upper case? Do you carry them?

Thanks

Your trackpad may just have a loose set screw that needs adjustment. Here's a guide that may get you to it: MacBook Unibody Model A1342 Trackpad Replacement

I was hopeful looking at that guide, that I could get my trackpad out to soak alcohol after milk was spilled on it. But I have the 17" model, and the ribbon cable for the trackpad is so securely glued to the top case that felt I would ruin it trying to get it off. Very disappointing that I'll probably have to buy the entire top case to fix this. But looking at the picture of the part (which is out of stock), it looks like no trackpad is included?? Let me get this straight, you are going buy a whole upper case rather than replacing a cable that can be ripped out and replaced?

Open it up and see if the battery is swollen and pressing against the bottom of the trackpad.

Actually I will probably just replace the trackpad. I could not find the part here, but found it on powerbook medic.

The battery is fine, recently replaced. The trackpad had milk spilled on it.

If you're willing to be a little unorthodox, you can try placing a thick napkin on the trackpad, closing the clamshell, turning the machine over, taking off the bottom cover, removing the battery, and then add gently pour a little alcohol onto the underside of the trackpad near where the sensitivity screw is, toward the "front" of the case (closest to where the user would be sitting). Be careful not to get the humidity sensor wet (small white dot if it hasn't been triggered... maybe red/pink/yellow if it has been triggered). The napkin absorbs the excess alcohol as it filters through the trackpad. If it was just a small spill that caused the issue, the alcohol will clear out any goo, and the click function will work again. This worked for me with two computers.

Weird. This is attributed to me, but I didn't write it. Bug in the system?
