Help! My MacBook Logic Board sparked!

On my MacBook, the power button was broken and I couldn't turn it on so I tried to jumpstart it by connecting the power pads but couldn't find anywhere online telling me where they were on this model so I sort of guessed. I connected two pads and it sparked!!! Is the Logic Board fried or is it still ok? When I click on the button on the side of the MacBook it still shows green lights. Thank you in advance.

@timothymcevoy not a good guesser ;-) what you do want to do, is to tell us exactly what number is on your logic board. That way we can at least try to help you with the power on pads. It should be a 820-XXXX number. The other thing you want to do is, take some good pictures of your logicboard and mark the component/area where you tried to power your board on. Post those pictures with your question. Use this guide Agregar imágenes a una pregunta existente to post your pictures.

Update (06/04/2018)

BTW for your model Shorting Pin #5 on the keyboard connection (#5 from the right with battery facing up) of the logic board to a ground point, will boot the laptop.

Update (06/04/2018)

you shorted out PPBUS_S5_HS_COMPUTING_ISNS which is a 12.8voltage rail to ground. You will possibly have to trace that rail and check the components on it. For now you may need to consider using a USB keyboard and see if that works. If it does, replace your keyboard and see if that fixes it. Lot easier than chasing your lines on your logic board.

For future reference and to avoid shorting out the wrong things. here are the locations of the power-on pads.

Since you did not post images of your boards I had to use these from ebay.com Seller has watermark on image.

Update: the computer turned on suddenly by connecting it to power (before it wasn’t turning on when connected to power). There is a new problem though, the bottom row of keys (z-m) do not work. I will try to get you the pictures of board as soon as I can but I am not able to do it now. For now, any recommendations on a fix for the keyboard?

To get a spontaneous reboot, disconnect the battery and mag-safe. Press and hold down the power button for 10 seconds, reconnect the battery and mag-safe and you should get a spontaneous reboot.
