Daniel Garcia possibly disconnected linkage from the door handle to the lock. See if you can open it from the inside. Let us know if you feel the same resistance as usual when moving the door handle or if it feels loose. Let us know what year your Tahoe is as well.

The attached document shows how to remove the panel and what the linkage looks like etc. For now a nice to know since you most certainly can't get to it with the door closed. Body.pdf

Unfortunately that's the way in and you do need to remove the inner door skin . It can be done but its difficult . start with the screws in the door handle and then work around the outside egde of the door pulling firmly to pull the body plugs that hold the doorskin to the door. once in pull off the inner plastic sheet and look to the end of the door for the latch . you can usually manipulate the latching mechanism to pop the door

go through passenger door try opening it for the inside kick it open once it opens there should be a small switch i'd call it the move that the opposite way.

Update (02/03/2018)

If the door will not open, then the issue may be the latch, but it may also be the linkage that connects the handles to the latch. You will need to access the inside of the door panel to have access to the locking mechanism and door latch, as well as verify the condition of that linkage. With the door shut, you will have limited space to pull off the door panel, but you should have enough room to do so.

Do to that, you must remove the bolts and pop out the retaining clips around the perimeter (which will be the hard part). Be careful not to break the clips; typically you have space to use a special tool, but you will only have a small amount of space to work with. Once you get the inside door panel off, you will have access to the latch and be able to open the door for the inspection. Manipulate the handles and check the linkage and latch release mechanism. With some simple observation, you should be able to find the issue rather quickly.

If you need assistance, I recommend having a certified mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, come to your location to determine why the door is stuck and repair it for you.

Thank you for this overview - I got stuck in my Tahoe this morning and had to climb over to the passenger side. Will try to figure this out over lunch!

On my 2003 Tahoe ,the door handle broke from the door latch, then one month later the inside handle broke away from the door latch, so now I have to crawl over the console to go out the front passenger door, but sometime i play Duke of Hazzard and just crawl in and out of the window, if my wife was alive and she saw me do that to here car ,she would kill me.

I've been in Autotech for 53 years this happens quite often on a lot of different makes and models if all the linkages are hooked up and the door is locking and unlocking properly and you still can't open the door from the inside or the outside you have to go down do the window Channel with a long skinny rod and try to get to the part that is not letting the latch part pull the door open the internal springs on the latch assembly break and then the little piece that moves when you lock and unlock the door doesn't go back into place when you unlock the door so you have to manipulate that piece back into position so the latch will work then once you get the door open you can either disassemble the latch and try to repair it or replace it with a new one a lot of times you can find the spring and repair it there's a lot of people online saying you have to cut the door panel off and all kinds of crazy things like that that is not always necessary I can usually get down into the latch assembly and get the lock to open it's difficult to see so if you have a new latch you can see the part that is needing to be pushed on and you can get the door open that way a good technician should be able to figure it out without damaging your door if your window doesn't roll down then you're going to have a problem
