How do I fix the digitizer and glass without destroying touch ID

I have an iPhone 6 and its screen wont respond to touch in certain areas so I purchased a new screen and digitizer and I need to know if theres a way I can replace the components without destroying touch ID functionality.

Touch can be replaced without any damage if you get along with the tutorial:

touch id is on the home button not the actual lcd, use the original home button and metal backplate and it should be fine

Hey Danny, G makes a good point. Your answers are always technically correct but they would be even better if you fleshed them out a bit and linked some guides from the iFixit library!
