Why are my clothes coming out of washer with bleach spots?

Some of my clothes are coming out of the washing machine with bleach spots that match the pattern of the washer tub (small holes on tub wall). This has happened even two or three cycles after I washed whites with bleach.

Hi Laurie Lien, are you adding the bleach to the water after it fills or to the bleach dispenser?

- de

acne-targeting products, like Clearasil and Proactiv, contain benzoyl peroxide. The ingredient acts like a bleach on textiles

- de

You can also use Oxi products and not chlorine bleach.

Washing machines are getting weird now,

where some new world order is only letting

enough water in to get articles wet, and no more.

I found this situation at friends facility helping

Elderly, and was shocked at this nonsense.

If that's the case, what was normal adding bleach

is now overkill.

This is also a great process perfect for iPad to phone

apps, using the timer to alert when events need attention.

Sitting too long in tub is exposing articles to air at the vent holes in tub.

This changed chemical action still active while wet.

Good luck..

The problem is most likely caused by a soap buildup in the washer, clothes or a draining issue. Try this to determine if you have a soap build up in your clothes: Gather a load of CLEAN clothes, items you wear often. Add to the washer WITHOUT detergent and let them wash a few minuets. If you see suds then you have a build up in your clothes. You can also fill the washer without clothes and let it wash. If you have suds then there is a soap build up in the washer. A slow drain will also cause this problem. Bottom line is, the white dots are from soap suds. To get rid of soap build up in machine and clothes will take a few weeks. Add a gallon or white distilled vinegar to washer and let it sit an hour or more, then fll it to highest water level, let it wash without clothes. Do that once a week for a month. the build up in your clothes: add your clothes without detergent Let them wash a few min. check for suds. If you have suds only add 1/4 recommended soap. Do this with every load until you don't have suds.

My washer is almost brand new. And it's only my daughter's clothes, so I'm going with the Benzoyl peroxide stain, as she uses acne wash with that ingredient.

I have the same situation

My daughter was blaming me for ruining her favorite T-shirt till I read your comment and mystery solved

Our problem is definitely due to bleach spots. The washer is new and we use soap pods. The stains are permanent and won’t come out. Tried adding water with the bleach but still have the problem. Suggestions?

- de

I’m having a similar issue. Certain clothes are coming out with bleached patches. I haven’t used bleach in my washer in ages and my husband has tested the chlorine in our water. We cannot figure out what is causing it. I’m so frustrated!

I have a similar issue as well. Random bleach spots appear on colored pieces. Only use bleach with whites. Spots are not necessarily appearing in the next load following bleach use! It ruins good things

Only one problem with answer chosen -

OP stated:

[bleach spots that match the pattern of the washer tub (small holes on tub wall].

Then spots are not soap bubbles.

What people need to do anytime problems are noticed _ one needs to stay with machine entire

wash cycle and inspect each cycle when complete.

From the moment water enters the tub, to moment clothes are immediately removed.

  • Here's one tip that'll help: If you removed wet clothes and they still stink _
  • 1. too many clothes were stuffed into too small of washer tub.
  • 2. there's not enough water per item, space was abused.
  • 3. fill tub with water only, now watch water in action how violently it moves.
  • 4. if inspected filled with clothes, and clothes barely move at all - obviously there's your problem _ now use half the items stuffed in.
  • 5. type of articles _ heavy jeans and bath towels, don't get mixed in with light t-shirts.
  • 6. heavy weight items only, bath towels only , and related, now the machine won't destroy itself as you now noticed it's now 6" out of place from shaking during spin out of water. This deliberate abuse with ten pound bath towel mixed in with light weight articles will destroy any machine shortly. Don't take Out of BALLANCE issues lightly. This can shut down the machine during end of wash cycle, start of rinse - now it's load is full of soap. And you thought all cycles were complete arriving to a stopped machine.
  • The electric motors used in modern washers are very small compared to years before. Light loads need to be carefully configured - by using a clothes sorting basket the size intended for a wash cycle.
  • If in doubt, bring a load to local laundry mat - compare results at each cycle.
  • you don't need heavy perfumed soap to disguise still filthy clothes, from abusing machine's capacity.
  • Now go enjoy truly sweet smelling clean clothes for once when it's pulled out of drawer a week from now.
  • There's another chapter using the dryer, so go ahead and let's hear those nitemares, to all out four alarm fires. Typically, a box full of excuses.
  • Cheers
