Warm the screen with a hairdryer to loosen the glue if it’s stuck

An Olga knife blade without the handle work well too but litely heating to warm up the glue is a must!

Chris Gee, This info is from link below, links will tell/show removal and installation of protector glass. There are a few ways to remove your busted tempered glass screen protector and the one you use will depend on just how well-attached the protector is to your screen. Before you start, use a hair dryer on low on your screen for about 15 seconds. This should slightly heat up and loosen the adhesive on the screen protector. Do not overdo this part.

Method 1

Before getting out your toolkit and working on your iPhone or iPad like it's one of Frankenstein's creations, try removing the screen protector with your fingernail.

Start by trying to lift the screen protector up from each corner. One of them's gotta give!

Once it starts coming up, stop pulling from just the corner and move further along the protector as it starts to peel off. This will help prevent it from falling to pieces before you can get it all the way off.

Pull slowly and evenly; otherwise, you'll have a jigsaw puzzle of tempered glass pieces to clean up.

Check out the 1st link for a couple other methods and also a vid.. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Believe me it took me about 1 and a half hours to remove my tempered glass protector from my iPhone 6s Plus!

I started to use my finger nails to peel off the protector but it cracked. Then I tried the other side and it cracked and again and again until I was left with a cracked tempered glass that looked like a jigsaw puzzle ‘as the dude above said’.

Perseverance and a lot of prayers helped me see this through to the end. I used my hair dryer to really heat the living crap out of the protector that at one point, I thought I was going to melt my phone!!

It really took ages to do t but in the end I mentioned to tear off a bit of the protector, and then I used something that every single person should use. A card but not the ones like your bank cards, cards like the ones that companies give u with their telephone numbers on!

This worked absolutely wonders!!! I started every so slow to push this in and to my wonderment and pure joy the protector stared to peel.

I worked my way very very slowly pushing the card in and the protector began to crack but it was peeling off. It took about 15 minutes of very slow and satisfying movement of the card to remove it!!!!

Needless to say I will never ever be using a tempered glass protector again. It was just not worth it. Oh yeah and I’ve seriously messed up my fingernails but I’m so glad it’s off!

I hope whoever is going through the same can benefit from what I’ve said and seriously you are in my thoughts and I sincerely ask God to help you remove that protector!

how long did you heat it up for?

thank you so much! i used a company card like you said and i didn't even need to use a hair drier! :))

God may be busy with critical global issues to worry about me and screen protector so I was thinking of warming it first with a garment steamer as long as I don’t over do it on the heat

Thank you all. I am glad to hear my answer is helping! God help you all!!

Than you so much. Having damaged most of my finger nails I read your advice, used a thin card and wow I finally removed the remaining screen protector.

Unless you're leaving some other info out, you can probably just put a fingernail underneath and peal up on the protector. There's a layer of plastic there so it should all stay together. Just prep the screen surface with the alcohol pad that comes with the new protector.

I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it. Really, I can’t actually believe it.

I have been trying to remove the plastic for days until I saw this post and these answers.

I use the business card and it’s off in less than 20 seconds, so yeah I couldn’t believe it.

You rule the face of the earth Haroon , never mind your comment on how satisfying it was to remove it with a business card LOL LMAO and LMFAO cause I was all of those 3.

For those doubters, my protector will not come off, with all my spudgers, credit cards, ifixit it cards, suction cups etc. I've removed about 10 of these in the past with absolutely zero problems. Heat is helping a little. Duct tape is a joke. This one is glued on due to age or something like that. I've been this for an hour and its not working. Opening my iMac was much easier. I'll be removing these preemptively in the future.
