iPhone fell in pool

Hey guys. I submerged my iPhone 6s about two weeks ago in a pool (for not even 5 seconds). As soon as I realized it I took it out of its case and shook out water and let it air dry (hot, non humid weather). The phone worked fine that entire afternoon until the evening when streaks displayed on the screen. I now know I should've powered it off but I didn't know that then. I also did not have access to tools to open it and let it dry better. The following morning it was off. And has been off since. A couple of days ago we returned fr vacation and I finally opened the phone. Nothing seems rusty or corroded. Any suggestions? I'm thinking it's most likely the screen that needs to be replaced. My husband said that the other day he connected it, he felt it vibrate but of course nothing displayed on the screen. What should be my next step?

Clean the board with 90% isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. Try to get the shields off, if you can then just brush what you can. Replace the battery and bring it to a electronics repair place that can get the shields off if you can't. After the board is all clean put it back in and try to fire it up. If it doesn't, send it somewhere. If it does, test everything and make sure it works.

its just water on the backlight. I don't know what everyone else is going on about.

You can replace the display, but you can also replace the backlight.

I would send the phone to a company that is qualified to clean the oxidation off of the components and replace any that may be shorted, oxidated or otherwise damaged.

The reason that I suggest that route rather than just order a screen is so that you don't throw money into the phone without knowing what is going on. Opening the phone and looking around is a good first step. The logic board needs to be removed and cleaned. Most of the water damage that I have seen is on the backside of the logic board. This is because most of us set the phone down screen side up. This causes the water that did get into the phone to go to the lowest spot, the backside of the components.

Disassemble, inspect, replace bad components, clean, re-assemble. Most shops that can do component level repair and data recovery will have a screen to verify whether or not yours is damaged.
