I also had same problem. I took it to service center and they replaced inner speaker.
A lot of videos on YouTube refer to a problem with the speaker wires rattling against the speaker. Solutions have been to wrap the wires with rolled tissue paper, replacing the wire with wire with softer insulators, etc... YouTube Links:
Another possible solution is to update the software by connecting the speaker via Bluetooth to a mobile device, downloading the "JBL Connect" app from the Google Play or iTunes App Store and updating the software.

If you can get at it, painting the ripped area of the speaker with rubber cement (glue) might help.
