Battery Removal tools required for MacBook Pro 13" Retina 2014 model

Hi,

At some point in the past, my Macbook fell off the bed and apparently dislodged the battery from it's connection point. Symptoms were dead Macbook and charge indicator LED wouldn't go green or amber (to show battery charging status). I brought it in to BestBuy (warranted repair at that point).

Just recently, the same issue has occurred. I assume it must have somehow disconnected again.

I came across this website but don't see a specific video for my laptop. Does anyone know the exact tools to get into and fix the battery issue?

Thanks!

Andy

Before you open the system up lets make sure the MagSafe adapters connection is good.

  • With the adapter disconnected inspect the pins within the MagSafe cord end using a small screwdriver press each pin slightly do they spring back?
  • Looking at your computers MagSafe connector are the contact pads clean and shiny? Is the plastic look melted or deformed at all?

Now lets check the MagSafe adapter its self. Is the DC side cord damaged in any way? Bumpy, insulation cut or wires exposed? Often I find the cord is damaged which in turn damages the delicate electronics internally in your system.

Let us know what you find.
