My unit won't heat. Replaced both fuses, coil. No power to coil at all. Any ideas?

Cause 1

Thermal Fuse

The thermal fuse is a safety device designed to protect the dryer from overheating. The fuse is located on the blower housing or at the dryer’s heat source such as the heating element on electric dryers or at the burner on gas models. The fuse should be closed for continuity meaning it has a continuous electrical path through it when good. If overheated the fuse will have no continuity meaning the electrical path is broken and the fuse has blown out. A multimeter can be used to test it for continuity. Be aware that a blown thermal fuse is an indication of a restricted exhaust vent from the dryer to the outside. Always check the dryer venting when replacing a blown thermal fuse.

Cause 2

Usually a dryer has two heating coils. A break in the coil is like a light bulb burning out.

I've had to replace both of mine in the last twenty two years. If you give me the model number I can direct you to the correct parts.

@gramercy possibility for that are

1. Heater. See TEST #4.

2. Check harness connections.

3. Check installation.

Of course you can run the heater/motor diagnostics test first to see what it displays first.

DIAGNOSTIC TESTS

These tests allow factory or service personnel to test and verify all inputs to the machine control electronics. You may want to do a quick and overall checkup of the dryer with these tests before going to specific troubleshooting tests.

ACTIVATING THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE

1. Be sure the dryer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off, or with only the Clothes Dry indicator on).

2. Select any one button (except Stop) and follow the steps below, using the same button (remember the button):

Press/hold 2-5 seconds ➔ Release for 2-5 seconds ➔ Press/hold 2-5 seconds ➔ Release for 2-5 seconds ➔ Press/hold 2-5 seconds

DIAGNOSTIC: Motor, Heater, and Console ID

Close the door. Press the Start button. The motor and heater will turn on, and the display will show one of the following console IDs:A0,A2,A4,A5,A6,A7,A8,A9.AA,AC or AD. If none of the Console IDs listed above are displayed, replace the user interface assembly.

➔ If the motor does not turn on, go to TEST #3a, page 4.

➔ If no heat is detected, go to TEST #4, page 6.

DEACTIVATING THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE

Press the Stop button twice to exit diagnostics.

Here are the tests #4 for the heater components for your dryer
