Is it really true that the early 2015 13' MBP has exactly the same screen as the model before? Has anyone installed one? I need a replacement (full screen assembly), but cannot find it being sold in the usual outlets for this specific model. Moreover, here in the ifixit store, it is not offered, while screens for the older models are. That's confusing.

Hi, I have same question, and I think its not fully compatible, I tried to put 2014 display on 2015 and its have issue with backlight at startup, for example if you press "ALT" at startup to chose startup disk, screen remains all the time dark only with flash light you can see its working and if you chose disk and only after some 5 seconds backlight will turn on, if I put old original broken display but with working backlight it will turn on backlight straight with the "chime" and yes with new 2014 display its not lighting up straight after chime only after some 5 seconds or so, but after that works fine.

So can someone confirm full!!! compatibility? someone who took lcd apart and compared lcd screen nubers?

According to the Early 2015 rMBP Teardown, the 2015 model has the same display as the Mid 2014 model. That means that you should be able to use the MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Mid 2014 Display Assembly Replacement guide. That replacement guide has links to tools you'll need to take apart the computer as well as the display assembly part you'll need to replace your current cracked screen.

It doesn't look like there is a display assembly guide for the Early 2015 model yet, so feel free to make one if you're up for it!

Hope this helps!

That's a nice tutorial indeed. However, full assemblies are hard to find and usually cost around 600 - 750 bucks. Although that's the cleanest and fastest solution, it doesn't make the repair very economical.

Replacing the LCD panel on its own, which costs about 150 bucks, takes a lot of time and is a pain, but doable and just as clean if you apply the right amount of patience :)

Oh wow, good to know. I'll try to keep this in mind in case I ever break my own screen. :D

I order them at displayengel's webshop (Google it).

Sidenote: repair this thing on a day on which you'll have about 3 hours to spare, these things are an absolute pain to repair.

Apple replace and fix any other problem for 475. I called an anti apple repair shop that fixes apples for cheaper to help people and they told me 500 to do it and if I wanted to buy it 500 also what a disappointment.

I wonder if you could find just the screen for the laptop and not the assembly. This could maybe bring down the closet of the replacement.
