The Whirlpool Quiet Partner II Dishwasher will not turn on

I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner II Dishwasher Model DU1101XTP83. I washed a load of dishes and everything seemed to work fine. When I went to unload the dishes, the green light above the "Normal" touch pad was blinking but the dishes were clean, no standing water in the bottom. I've read thru several of the other posts on this topic but none seem to be the same issue.

I checked the breaker, it was not tripped. I tried turning it off for several minutes. When the power is turned back on, the "Door Lock" indicator light next to the "Heated Dry" button, blinks for about 60 seconds or so, then stops and the "Normal" light starts flashing again. The reset sequences mentioned in the owners manual, as well as those in other posts have had no effect, the only lights that come on are the 2 mentioned.

I tested both door latch microswitches for continuity, they are good. The thermal electronic fuse is good as well although I havent tested for voltage because I'm not sure where to touch the ground probe without causing more damage. I've disconnected each wire to check for any burnt connectors and also checked the control board on both sides for any heat damage or poor solder connections. Everything appears fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I wish I had an answer as good as your question. Try unplugging it for 5 minutes to allow it to reset. The idiot lights just don't tell us much. The only thing you may not have checked is an obstructed drain hose.

Press and hold the heated dry button for 5 seconds. The light of the lock will turn off. Then you can start your washer as normal.

This worked for me. My lock button would flash any time you tried to start the washer. After it blinked a few times it would stay on. Holding the Heated Dry button for 5 seconds turned it off and all is working fine now. Thanks.

I have problem with Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner II —> Constantly blinking ‘Normal’ light.

Turning power off and on does not solve (or modifies) the issue. Btw, two other buttons (i.e. light and rinse) their lights are lit but very dim, I had to be REALLY close to notice that. Is this an indication that I have “stuck” buttons and the console but not the control panel needs to be replaced.

Where can I download a service manual for my appliance. Whatever it takes I can definitely tackle myself, my problem is that I do not have a methodical way of trouble shooting. I certainly do not want to call for a repairman (ABT in the NW suburbs of Chicago) they charge an arm and a leg just to show up to your door, parts are of course extra and it is usually something so stupidly simple such as a part replacement or a disconnected wire.

[I can be reached at this email: R1100RA(at)gmail(dot)com]

Please help if you can, thanks!

@amandadewitt With dishwashers it's a crapshoot as to whether it's going to be hard wired into the house's electrical wiring or if it's going to be plugged into a standard electrical outlet. I've seen both methods used and don't know that there's a way to tell without examining it.

If you pull the dishwasher out from its enclosure, there will either be a cord going to a wall socket, or else there'll be a conduit/wire coming out from a junction box and feeding into an electrical connection box in the dishwasher. In the latter case you would normally use the circuit breaker to disconnect power to the dishwasher. If there's a wall socket you can just unplug it like any other appliance.
