Why won't the charge port work properly?

I noticed a similar question from another customer, but have no answer. The charger/adapter port isn't making a complete connection, but the cord(s) is plugged in correctly. I'm not sure what to do.

Any suggestions??

Take a flashlight and look at the charge port on the device. Does it look damaged at all? Have there been any tumbles or other damage that might have occurred? It is possible that the charging port got damaged, or that there are clips on the cable that have become worn out.

With flashlight, it looks like everything is fine. However, looks can always be deceiving.

It's possible that the port has been damaged, and possibly while still being plugged in for charging. The question that remains is whether or not it's cost efficient to repair it? Replace it?

Thoughts??

If you have data on the device that you need to get off and the device is dead, then it might be worth it to you to have it repaired. This charge port is a solder type, so you'd need skills with soldering and the right tools, or a shop that will charge a reasonable amount.

If data is not your concern, I would give you a subjective answer of no, it would not be worth repairing. You can find these tablets on ebay for under $100 (40-65 range) used but in good shape. The port itself you can pick up for around $10 or so. So, cost-wise, I would say that it is right in that range where it would be worth to repair if you were doing yourself or you required data off of the device.

However, I am of the mentality that if you can repair something, you should definitely do that over recycling or trashing it. You could donate it to many different charities or use it as a spare music player, or anything, really. Repair > Recycle > Trash
