rear camera and flash not working

I bought a used iPhone 5s of which rear camera is not working, nor the flash. The flash is gray out and the phone will restart if I open the camera app. third party app cannot turn it on either.

Front camera is working well.

I opened the phone many times and checked everything. no broken cable and the camera itself is working on other phones.

There are some small components missing as per the attd image.

The phone will be very hot if I make jumper for the capacitor and the camera and flash also not working

I'd like to know if there is a solution to make the camera work again, like a post here http://celularmobilepc.blogspot.com/2013...

many thanks

Chung

I have the same problem with my iPhone 5. Tested 2 working cameras on same motherboard and both of them failed to work.

Solución Elegida

It's been a long time, but should someone read this:

The components are:

1/ Capacitors linked to ground: by jumping them, you create a short to ground. This MUST be avoided at all cost. remove the jumpers and look for other culprits. The 3 small caps can be discarded. It is better to replace the bigger one, but if this is not possible, better leave it without anything.

2/ Those capacitors have nothing to do with the back camera, they are related directly or indirectly with the compass. Worse case scenario: leave them missing and your compass may act out, but otherwise the iPhone should behave normally.

3/ The iPhone board has an identification number. Find it on the board. Use it to pull the schematics, look for the circuit of the back camera. This can help solve it. Running around jumping components (specially capacitors which mostly are connected to ground) will only cause shorts to ground, overheating, further damage to the board.

4/ If you need help solving such an issue, post a separate question for your device, and an "excellent" quality picture of the board where the components are missing/damaged. This way you can get help identifying components, their function, and possibly finding a solution. If you can't post a good quality picture, do like qchung did here: post a good quality stock picture of the board, but mark the ones that are missing in your particular case.
