my friend dropped hers in water it was n there for a 2seconds now it acts like it want to turn on and all I can see is the apple popup but it wont turn on its been in rice for 2 days and then it goes black couple mins. later it tries to turn its self back on. what do I do to fix it?????

April Riggs, skip the rice. That is a myth. at best, rice is only a first aid, but it does not prevent any kind of corrosion. The best thing to do is to stop using the device, (remove the battery) and to totally disassemble it. Use these guides for that. Then clean it with +90% isopropyl alcohol. This will displace the water and stop corrosion. It it okay to submerge a board in isopropyl alcohol. Check this guide to show you how to do it. After that, air dry all the components. Do not forget to clean the connectors on the board as well as the cables. Then re-assemble with a new battery This is not optional but a must to avoid failure later on. " Check your board for any missing or damaged component. Water damage is the toughest to trouble shoot and to repair. Hope this helps, good luck.

Follow oldturkey03's advice. No more turning it on until it has been cleaned and has a new battery.
Every minute it spends in rice is one more minute that corrosion is setting in. Water damaged phones must be cleaned with alcohol and time definitely matters.
