Can I change my graphics card?

I would like to replace my Intel family graphics card to an Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB. I have heard that you can't replace it, but i have also heard that you can. Is this true? and if so, how would i replace it?

josh hinds, looks like the Dell Inspiron n5110 has an integrated video card. It is a chipset that is part of the motherboard. Looks like you don't get to upgrade your video card.

It depends if your Laptop has built in or integrated Video chip then I`m afraid it wont be possible to change and you may need to get a new machine matching your specs.

Some laptops comes with a slot based chip which is possible to upgrade up to some extent.

I'm not quite sure about that, cause my Dell 15R N5110 has two graphic cards, one integrated Intel HD graphics and one GT525M. The latter one is possible to unplug without any soldering. The hard part is to find another one to buy. And since this Dell is a laptop with rather bad ventilation you would most certain get heat problem.

Take your computer to mobile repair store and they could tell you advice. Most new operation system version could replace.
