The 2 most common things that go wrong is you bought a bad screen from a bad source,(EBay), or the Ribbon cables were damaged when you threaded them through the mid frame, also sometimes the cables dont get plugged into the logic board correctly, start there, if you need a new screen get one from ifixit or here, https://www.gounlock.com/search.php?prod..., good luck,

I have removed and re installed my screen several times, and about half of the time the ribbon cable gets caught up in between the screen and the frame. Try taking it apart carefully and when your feeding the ribbons through the frame, look at the ribbons from the side. Use a small tool like tweezers or toothpicks to direct it through the hole fully. This solved my problems with this issue.

Apple INC. have had over 4000 (Iphone's) sent in when all they needed was to simply be taken apart and the digitizer (touch screen + LCD) needed to be unconnected and reconnected properly. if you knock your phone or its assembled wrong it can simply make it hard for the touch screen to work correctly this is a common mistake! the flux cables are the issue sometimes they don't get a proper connection and therefore the touch screen will sometimes be not very effective and sometimes will randomly stop working, making you have to lock your (Iphone) and try to use it again. locking and unlocking your phone usually would make it work again because it resets the touch timer. We have never had a case where some ones (Iphone) 4 not 4s is broken just because of a dodgy touch screen, if it is stuffing up, you either didn't plug it in properly, the cables are dirty or when you assembled it yourself you damaged the flux cables, thankyou very much and please try this simple method, it is NEVER a broken screen just because it wont touch sometimes. Official apple support crew. NEVER USE A DODGEY, FAKE OR RIP OFF COMPANY ESPECIALLY A CHEAPER VERSION OF APPLE CLAIMING TO BE APPLE!

Apple doesn't sell replacement parts to anyone. Every screen is a fake or knockoff.

After replacing the powerbutton that had broken down, my screen started to behave strangely (non-responsive).

So I replaced the screen, but that did not help. The touch is unreliable.

So I checked the digitizer cable and re-connected it. It remains unreliable. I have to press it real hard in order for it to function a couple of minutes, than apparently it slightly disconnects again and the touch doesn't work.

Press it again, it is okay again for some time.

I am beginning to believe that my original screen was okay after all, there is something with that connection that gives the failures.

Any advise?

Guys, a question: can it be because the midframe is damaged? Or it has nothing to do with the midframe? I mean the lcd is being glued onto the midframe.

I've put on many iPhone 4/4S screens with slightly bent mid frames. So I don't think it would be an issue unless it's bent to the point where the screen can barely sit on the midframe.

Had a issue once where I basically killed 2 iPhone 4 screens because I didn't clean the glass properly on the mid frame where the screen sits on top.

The other case was that the mid frame was dented near the volume button mid frame gap in a way that it would actually kill the LCD in a way. Fixed that by bending it back flat instead of making a bump.

I replaced my screen with this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H7X...

After I replaced it the screen lights up and everything else is functional except for the touch. What shall I do?
